Six weeks ago over 200 knitters cast on for their gauge swatches and began the Tortola KAL. Over the weeks to follow our ranks more than doubled (and continues to grow every day), and now nearly 450 knitters received the final clue. Last month we got to see what the knitters were up to.
Through 4/24 you can still get the Tortola KAL Sweater class + pattern (over 3 hours of video tutorials, all the sweater modifications and knitting how tos) for only the price of the pattern – $8.00. After 4/24 to get the class version it will be $14, and the pattern only will be $8.00.
Through it all, the help and support of every knitter on the Ravelry group was always there. Over 1600 amazing knitters let every first time sweater knitter know . . . they were not alone! Now it’s time to discuss

I’ve filmed a video for a special cast on for gauge, written about how to measure when you can’t see your stitches, how to block your swatch, secrets of row gauge and how to swatch for in the round projects.
Right now nearly 300 knitters are swatching for the Tortola KAL, (jump in, we’re just getting started). There are THREE video tutorials just on gauge, as well as a how to document to teach you the math you need if your stitch gauge is off. Welcome to Tortola KAL!
It’s time for this year’s Knit-Along!! I am so excited to start another KAL on my Ravelry group. There will be tons of teaching and fun, prizes and a great garment! Think of it like a sweater class for the price of a pattern! There will be HOURS of video tutorials to help you every step of the way.
Once again our wonderful retail partner, the local yarn store FiberWild, will be our official yarn supplier for our KAL (at an amazing discount, plus free shipping!) You can order your yarn, as well as any needles or notions you’ll need. I would not be able to produce these knit-alongs without the support of my retail partner, so supporting FiberWild makes this and future KALs possible! Show them some love 🙂
$8 – Use promo code: TOR17 during the pre-sale period before Feb 20 and get 10% off!
After April 24th the pattern alone will be $8, the KAL – sweater class versions (with all the how tos, video tutorials, and modification notes) will be $14.
