2016 Knitting Events: Winter & Early Spring

I have no idea what happened to 2015. I just got back from a fabulous knitting cruise with Melissa Leapman and Laura Nelkin, followed by a teaching trip at the adorable Stash-a-Place for Yarn, and now it’s time to look to 2016.

2016 Knitting Events – Winter and Early Spring

In case you’re wondering “Is there a knitting event near me”. The answer is yes. So far in 2016 I’ll be going to New York (NYC, Corning, Westchester, Long Island, Rochester) California (Santa Clara, San Diego, Pasadena), Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Minnesota (twice!), Illinois, Maine, Oregon . . . and that’s just the tip of the knitting event iceberg (or needle?).

Vogue Knitting Live NYC

Vogue Knitting Live NYC 2016

The year always starts out at home Vogue Knitting Live NYC. I’m teaching some brand new classes. For the sweater knitters I’m teaching Shape UpSecrets to Spectacular Sweater Success, Make Your Gauge Work and Magic of Perfect Blocking. For the technique junkies, there’s Knitting Magic where we explore Magic Loop, Judy’s Magic Cast on for a toe starter, tubular cast on and provisional cast on. Don’t worry about mistakes because there’s Knitting ER: Tragedy and Treatment.

If you’ve never been to a VK Live, it’s a fabulous event with non stop action in addition to the classes. There are fashion shows, cocktail parties, free demos, lectures, and the market, did I mention the market?

I’m very excited to be a part of the Pittsburgh Knit & Crochet Festival. This amazing show is in it’s 12th year, and this year it’s bigger than ever. They have expanded to join with the Pittsburgh Creative Arts Festival so if you love knit and crochet and quilting and paperwork and sewing and . . . well you get the idea. I’m thrilled to be included in a great line up of headliners including Edie Eckman, Shibaguyz, Robyn Chachula, Steven Berg and more!

Stitches South 2016

Stitches South 2016

I finish up my March by going to Nashville! I couldn’t go to Stitches South last year due to a conflict and had to put up with seeing social media blow up with all the teachers and students posting pictures of the amazing venue, the amazing market and of course, of the cowboy boots they bought. I hope you can join me and a bunch of fab teachers at this very special show!

Okay . . . that’s the first three months of the year. I’ll post April and May next month!
