Corcoran KAL update
On June 20th clue #1 for the Corcoran KAL came out and over 175 knitters cast on for their gauge swatches. Now we’ve just released clue #4, and there are over 350 knitters that have joined in.
Knitters who join us before Aug 15th will still get the 15 video tutorials (over 2 hours of filmed sweater instruction), all the sweater modifications and knitting how tos for just the price of the Corcoran pattern – $7.00!!
Corcoran KAL update
After Aug 15th the pattern only price will stay at $7.00, but if you want to get the pattern + the sweater class (modification notes, how tos and 2 hours of video content), the cost will be $12.00.
With so many wonderful pictures coming in, I thought sharing some might inspire the knitters who have just joined us.
My favorite thing is reading about how many first time sweater knitters are involved! So impressive.
Clue #1 – swatching
Most KALs give the gauge information before the start, but I feel that it IS the start. We all did our gauge together and had video tutorials to guide us! We learned about measuring our unblocked and blocked gauge swatch and even working the pattern for Eastern and Combination knitting.
Here’s a few:
Clue #1 – Casting on, working the back
We learning casting on in pattern, working the lace pattern (including alternative SSKs), and before you know it knitter had a sweater back up to the armhole.
Fantastic Modifications
What KAL would be complete without a few mods. The KAL comes with notes for working a different length, different gauge, scoop neck, crew neck, short sleeve, 1/2 sleeve, 3/4 sleeve and full sleeve. KAL members also added there own, from stripes to waist shaping and even turning it into a cardigan – LOVE it!!
Clue #2 – Finishing The Back
It’s time to master shaping staying in pattern, working two sides at once (neck shaping) and the sloped bind off (shoulder shaping.)
Clue #3 – Sweater Front
Now’s our chance to make front neck modifications . . . crew neck, shallow scoop, deep scoop? Our knitters tried them all.
Stay tuned for sleeves, finishing, neck bands, final project photos, and information about PRIZES.
Still haven’t joined us? What are you waiting for!
See you all on the Ravelry group!
Patty you a great teacher. I have learn a lot from you. Thanks
Very nice. The update captured the spirit of the KAL so well. Fun and informative. So glad I did not miss this opportunity.
