Welcome to the Labadee Cowl Video KAL: Now on Sale!!
You asked for it, and you got it. I am so excited to start my very first accessory KAL on my Ravelry group. There will be tons of teaching and fun, prizes and a lovely cowl. During the KAL registration period you get the full video cowl for just $1 over the price of a regular pattern!!! There will be video tutorials to help you every step of the way.
So without further ado…
Introducing the Labadee Cowl Video KAL
I had such fun designing this cowl and it has everything I love packed into one project. It’s wider at the base so it drapes over your shoulders to keep you warm and cozy. It’s simple enough for first time color work knitters, but it has enough fun techniques to keep you interested!
If you’ve never done color work before, this is the perfect first project.
As with all my video KALs, the pattern will come with hours of video tutorials build right in
FAQs
Q: What is a KAL?
A: KAL stands for knit-along! It’s a great way to work through a garment with the support of the designer (me), but more importantly, hundreds of other knitters.
If you are new to KALs, find helpful FAQ on the general info page.
The heart of the KAL is our Ravelry group. There we will have updates, discussions, sharing of pictures, and knitting tips.
Q: How do I register and order supplies?
A: Simply by purchasing the Labadee Cowl KAL pattern…
- From my Ravelry page.
You can join in ANYTIME! The KAL info will stay live on my group forever, and the video tutorial links will never expire! But the KAL class price goes up to $10 after Feb 28, so join now even if you aren’t going to work the cowl class until later.
Q: Where do we get our yarn
We are using the lovely 5 pack Wonderland Madhatter.
- From WEBS (please use this link for ordering)
- (at a 20% discount on a purchase of $60 or more)
- Or your LYS (that’s “local yarn shop”)
Q: What skills will I learn?
A: This Cowl has tons of fun techniques
There will be video tutorials on all specialty skills. New skills learned:
- Working my unvented contrasting color i-cord cast on
- Slip stitch and lifted float patterns
- Chart reading
- Knitting in your tail as you go
- Carrying yarn
- Contrasting color i-cord BO
- Blocking and seaming tips and MORE!
Q: Where are the videos?
A: With every section of the pattern released to your Ravelry library, you will see red links in the PDF directly to the video tutorials to help you every step of the way. The links will be right there in the pattern!
Your initial downloaded PDF will contain the pattern introduction with gauge, yarn requirements and needle and notion information. The chart for swatching will come in clue #1
