Selfish Knitting: 5 Projects to Treat Yourself with This January
How many projects have you knit this past year? How many of them were gifts and how many were for yourself? Many of us spend a lot of time knitting gifts for our loved ones. We love to see their happy faces when receiving our projects. But as we exit the season of giving, it’s nice to enjoy a little “me time” and treat ourselves to projects just for ourselves. It’s a great way to reconnect with the joy of knitting for the sake of it.
That’s why I like to think of January as “Selfish Knitting Month.” It’s a reminder that you deserve a little something for your own enjoyment!

I’m knitting Holiday, a sweater pattern by eri. Picked up the kit at Vogue Live in Columbus. Extremely basic tunic that I’ll wear over leggings. Guilty of making too many things to give away so this is the year of sweaters for me. A friend and I picked up the fun kits put together by Mass Ave LYS. I am using your class on “Using Your Gauge” to making the sweater hopefully fit what I’m doing. Love the advice of focusing on “distance” – using the number of stitches and rows needed to make it X inches long and Y inches wide.
