Welcome to AffiKNITy, The Knitting Retreat You Customize!
This is the retreat you can make your own! Enjoy two different class packages with our amazing team of teachers.
I’m so thrilled to be joined by Kate Atherley, Norah Gaughan, Mary Jane Mucklestone, and special guest Lindsay Vega (Five Borough Yarns)
Customize it all! You will be able to pick from two class packages, build your own schedule choosing the times and class style that fit your needs — first come first served, so register as soon as it opens to get your first choices. Choose a little or a lot, it’s up to you. Everyone will be together in the evenings for knitting, games, fashion shows, and fun.
You Choose It All — How Registration Works
1) Choose Class Package
Some knitters want three days of education, some knitters want to take a class or two and have plenty of hang-out time. That’s why we offer two different class packages.
- Full Hank
3 classes, one from each guest teacher
- Mini Skein
1 class from one guest teacher
Both packages will have the chance to take a Tips & Tricks class with Patty (come with your questions!), and access to all evening events, a workshop from Kate Atherley, a talk from Bristol Ivy, and the kickoff session for Patty’s fall video sweater class (included free with the retreat!)
2) Choose Class Style and Time
Everyone learns at their own pace, so we are offering three different class styles. In addition, you can choose when you take classes because each teacher will present their class four times.
In the detailed schedule CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD BROCHURE you will see that each instructor teaches one “Relaxed,” one “Mixed,” and two “Loaded” sessions.
This class will spend a bit more time on fundamentals as we take our time to explore the class content. Perfect for both the newer knitter or the knitter who wants a more relaxed class pace.
A little something for everyone! This class will be for mixed levels. It will dig a bit deeper than the relaxed group. Perfect for knitters of different skill levels who are traveling together, or for the newer knitter who doesn’t mind jumping right in.
This class will be chock full of goodies. We’ll be taking a deep dive into the class topic, and we may even get into extra credit tricks. Perfect for the knitter who wants to gobble up all the ideas or the newer knitter who doesn’t mind observing new things!
Schedule at a Glance

Thank you to our Sponsors:
This sounds fantastic! However, I would need to have an idea of how much the lodging options cost BEFORE registering. It would be really helpful if you would provide some information to this end. It will be an expensive trip coming from from the West Coast. Thanks!
Did you get a chance to read the landing page? There’s a shaded in box that says:
The registration fee does not include housing because there is such a wide range of price options. You will find everything from a simple hotel room to cabins to luxury suites. (Prices range from $85 for a share to $280 for a private suite, and everything in between!) All your housing details are available in the brochure.
You can look at the rooms with their full rates on Sebasco Harbor, but our group rates start as low as $85 a night for a share.
Would there be vegan options for the food provided as my friend and I are both vegan eaters? Thank you!
Of course! On the registration form there’s a place to check if you are vegetarian, vegan, gluten free or dairy free.
It’s awesome to see that you are accommodating gluten free knitters. My question though is about how the gluten free food is prepared. Is there a separate area for that preparation? I am celiac and cross contamination is an issue sometimes. Thanks!
Hi, I’m afraid we are all full up. The kitchen prepares fully gluten free meals for next year.
How does one get to Sebasco Bay assuming you have to fly to Maine? I thought the resort would have info but I don’t see anything on their page.
Many knitters rent a car so they can visit Portland and stop off at Freeport on the way. You can connect to other knitters in the group on the FB or Ravelry group. There’s also a shuttle that goes from the airport.
I’ll be reaching out to the group as we get closer:
You can fly in and then to Amtrak, to Brunswick then taxi to Sebasco or you can rent a car at the airport. Another contact is Pete Harrison with Outward Express – he possibly may have a better overall rate. His number is 207-865-0890.
Here is the info from the resort website: https://www.sebasco.com/where-is-sebasco/
Thank you, Ma’am. I still can’t figure out where you found that page but I’m glad you did! I looked under every heading and didn’t see it.
New question! I had chosen vegetarian for all meals but that’s not strictly true. I just don’t eat lobster. I logged in to update my preferences but no could do. Is there some way to remove ‘vegetarian’ from my overall preferences but leave it for the lobster bake. I just can’t do the lobster thing. Thanks!
Hi, a blog comment is really not the best way to communicate for the retreat since it will get lost not being with the other emails (all other attendees email).
Please just hit reply to your confirmation or email email@example.com
Thanks – I didn’t know how to do this!
Do you have a mailing list for when up coming retreats become available?
Yes, sign up right from the home page and make sure to choose “Fall Retreat”. You’ll be the first to know when we open registration for 2022. It sold out FAST this year.
Do you have any last minute cancellations I’m very interested? Your link to your registration page no longer workd
Hi, you are looking at a post from 2021, so that link won’t work to add yourself to the wait list for 2022. There is actually a cancellation for 2022. Make sure to add yourself to the wait list for both Full Hank and Mini Skein. I’ll be contacting everyone on the wait list today: https://pattylyons.com/2022/03/affiknity-registration-details/
Do you have any openings for your Sebago, Maine retreat. I tried going to the registration page and was unable to do so
Hi, This is last year’s blog post, so you were trying to register for last year’s event. The 2022 event – https://pattylyons.com/2022/03/affiknity-registration-details/
is here. We are sold out (it starts in 6 days), but you can join the wait list.
