Patty Lyons’ Knitting Bag of Tricks One Year Anniversary – Celebrating with Love, Knitters, and Local Yarn Stores!

Can you believe it’s been an entire year since my knitting book, “Patty Lyons’ Knitting Bag of Tricks,” came to life? Time has certainly flown by, and I am absolutely overwhelmed by the love and support I’ve received from all of you wonderful knitters out there. So we’re shining a spotlight on two very special groups who have made this journey unforgettable: the incredible knitters and the local yarn stores around the world who’ve wholeheartedly embraced our book.

To celebrate this incredible journey, here are three exciting events lined up:

Show Your Local Yarn Store Love:

I learned so much from my time working in yarn stores, and when I wrote this book, I envisioned it from the perspective of a self-taught knitter. I also aimed to create a book that local yarn stores could use for years to help knitters. I’m incredibly grateful for the support of local yarn stores all over the world!

Did you know that there’s a dedicated Local Yarn Store (LYS) page on pattylyons.com? Just click HERE to see where the book is sold. If you know of an LYS that is selling the book and isn’t listed, please let me know.

Now it’s time to spread the love. I’ve been so fortunate to have visited some of the best yarn stores in the country. Leave a comment and let me know which is your local yarn store and tell me what you love about them.

Let’s create a list so that when we travel, we know the must-visit spots!!

I love the book and I love your laid back, nonjudgmental approach to teaching knitting. I always enjoy your posts.

My LYS is Birdhouse Yarns in Tucson, Arizona and what I LOVE about them is how enthusiastic they are about making the experience great for their customers – they truly go an extra mile to get great fiber teachers to visit and hold workshops and the proprietor Holly cares greatly about being a resource for knitting support. Come visit if you can! Tucson is particularly nice in spring and fall.

My LYS is Raggz Fiber Arts in Delmont, PA. We only moved here in February this year, and Toni has been so welcoming! Drop in knitting is on whenever the shop is open, and there’s usually coffee and often other treats. It’s a great way to build a community among the knitters and other Fiber artists. And Toni is a fabulous dyer as well, creating her own colorways.

It’s not exactly my LYS because I’m not from that area, but I absolutely love Sea Needles in Bethany Beach, DE. They have many beautiful yarns available and a lot of samples displayed in the store. I’ve been shopping there for the past 15 years whenever I head to the beach for vacation. They are a wealth of knowledge about their products and yarn crafts. Stopping in is always a highlight of my trip.
