A Year of Teaching Knitting – 2016 Review

Another year of teaching, traveling, knitting and laughing has come to an end.  I am so grateful that my job is to travel all over the country meeting and teaching (and being taught by) the most amazing knitters around.

This year saw travel to 22 cities, teaching hundreds of students live, thousands online, and 28 private students (live and streaming on the web). There were ups and downs, bad travel connections, lost luggage , and through it all, you were there.

Tuesday Tip: How to Measure Cross Back

Tuesday Tip copyThe cross back (or shoulder to shoulder measurement) is the most important measurement in a set in sleeve sweater and the hardest to get right.

On my Ravelry group we are getting ready to start the Corcoran Knit Along (starting June 20th, 2016). * The KAL will be filled with video tutorials and how tos (exclusive to the KAL participants) including one on how to read a schematic and choose the right size.

  • EDIT – The KAL / Sweater classes are still available for sale on Ravelry and the videos and message boards never expire.

Choosing the right size is the most vital step to a happy sweater. A few weeks ago we looked at how to measure armhole depth, now it’s time to look at . . .

I finally unpacked (okay, it takes me a while to recover from back to back California trips), and another amazing Vogue Knitting Live, is finished (is it November yet and time for the next one?)

For those of you following along, you might remember that at VK Live NYC (“In which Patty ventures to Manhatten, teaches 165 students, loses her voice and is saved by her friends and the staff of Vogue Knitting Live.”) I had a bit of a rough time, but not is sunny California!
