How Virtual AffiKNITy works
One your confirmation email you will have a link that says: ACCESS ONLINE EVENT. This will be your landing page for the whole event. This is where your homework and materials will be posted. You will also come back here on 24 hours before the event and you’ll find:
– Download links for your handout
– Download links for the fashion show line up
You will be also find your log in button to all of your classes, shopping 🛍, and events.
From your ONLINE EVENT page you can connect to your live classes, which will be held on our online meeting and webinar provider Zoom. You will need a computer, smartphone, or tablet and a solid internet connection.
What are the technical specifications to participate?
All you need is a smartphone, or tablet or a computer and internet connection. EVERY PARTICIPANT WILL GET A HUE CAMERA IN THEIR GOODIE BAG!!!!
For smartphones and tablets, the Zoom app is available in the app store of your choice and tech specifications can be found here. For desktop computer specifications, click here; you may need to download the app prior to your first class. We suggest testing your device with Zoom prior to your first class by clicking the button below. Please note the new version of Zoom is optimized for newer devices, if you have an older device you may not see the entire shared screen.

We also suggest having a strong internet connection so the video does not buffer. Zoom suggest you have at least 2 MPBS upload and download speed from your internet service provider.

What happens after registration
When you register, you will receive a confirmation email with your registered sessions. You’ll be able to see all your registered classes.
What do I need to do on the day of the virtual event?
Grab your supplies as listed in the class description and any homework if requested by the teacher, find a quiet space in your home, and set up your computer, smartphone, or tablet. Headphones are recommended but not required. You will receive a reminder email with a big link for ACCESS ONLINE EVENT. This will take you to your page featuring your registered classes. For each class there will be a “join session” button; please be sure to enter your classroom at least 15 minutes prior to the class to work out any technical issues you may have.
What if I am having issues connecting to my classes?
Exit the class and reenter the room. If you are still having issues, restart your device and rejoin the class. If you continue to experience issues, please go to pattylyons.com and ask for help in the chat. There will be a retreat staffer standing by to help.
Can I access recordings of the classes I took after the event is over?
No; classes are only offered live. They will not be recorded.
